A Guide to the Ben 10 Omnitrix - Is This the Best of the Ben 10 Toys?

If you have a Ben 10 fan at home then the Omnitrix is THE toy that they are most likely to want. This is the core Ben 10 accessory that turns any small child into a defender of the planet. What's kind of nice here is that there are loads of Ben 10 products you can buy (and I mean loads!) but this is the WOW, bells and whistles, must have toy that kids will want more than any other.

Small disclaimer: Buying your kid a Ben 10 Omnitrix will not necessarily mean that their collecting habit will end. They'll always find something else from the series that they 'have' to have or they'll just burst!

In the TV series Ben 10 uses his Omnitrix to help him defend the planet. This device is worn like a watch and allows the wearer to assume the DNA of a selected alien by choosing them from the dial. It is the thing that turns a 10 year old boy into a super powered hero who can take on anything.

Pretend you're a 10 year old boy (or any small child watching the series!) and getting your hands on a replica Omnitrix will make sense. This toy is probably the pivotal product for the series. With it, a kid can be Ben 10. They can do the kind of stuff he does.

Actually, as product tie-ins go, this one is pretty good. Kids love the fact that they can wear their Omnitrix, just like Ben 10. Most of the products here (there are a few versions, sorry!) will do different stuff.

So, for example, the Deluxe Omnitrix gets them to choose the right alien at the right time to defeat Vilgax in an electronic type game. The Omnitrix FX gives them a range of sounds, special effects and familiar light-up actions from the series. The Omnitrix Illuminator lets them project images on to walls and other surfaces.

The Ultimate Omnitrix allows them to attach a series of alien figures to the watch so they can hear them speak in their special TV voices and light up. This is one of the newer releases from the Ben 10 range. The good news is it comes with one alien figure included in the pack. The bad news is there are 10 to collect in all!
